Basquiat ‘A Portrait’ is a limited edition publication of 500 books. Each book contains a signed and numbered certificate by the photographer Richard Corman. Presented for the first time 12 large format images (nine monochrome & three in colour), seven contact sheets (five monochrome & two in colour). 79 images in total were taken at Basquiat’s studio at 57 Great Jones Street, New York City, June 1984. Housed in a blood red, hand-made slipcase, the interior portfolio unfolds to nearly 4 metres (13 feet).
All books and slipcases are hand-made and may contain some slight imperfections due to the production process.
